Description

If you are an experienced, construction, electrical PE engineer this is an excellent professional opportunity for you. Work with a well known and respected firm here in Fresno, CA.

Research, design, develop, budget, and engineer electrical systems for new and remodel work for medical, commercial, institutional, and other types of construction projects with focus on economy, safety, reliability, quality, and sustainability.

Requirements

Knowledge:
The candidate must have proficient knowledge in the following areas:
- Comprehensive knowledge of designing and preparing plans for electrical engineering scope (i.e., lighting, power, control wiring, substation, low voltage, etc.) of projects by utilizing current industry standards.
- Comprehensive knowledge of electrical engineering fundamentals (i.e., electrical theory and practice, modern electrical equipment, power distribution control systems, illumination design, etc.) and mathematics.
- Comprehensive knowledge of terminology, various codes, safety orders, rules, laws, regulations, and Title 24.
- Proficient knowledge AutoCAD and engineering applications, software, and hardware.
- Basic knowledge of cost estimates for electrical engineering aspects.
- General knowledge of structural engineering, mechanical engineering, and architectural engineering elements as related to buildings for proper coordination with electrical scope.
- Basic knowledge of procedures of building construction as it relates to the installation of electrical equipment utilizing current industry standards to provide effective design and construction support.

- Excellent organization, prioritization, and time management.
- Computer Literacy - including AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Responsibilities:
The candidate will be responsible for overseeing project production efforts to assure projects are completed on time and within budget. These activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Maintain a professional presence and provide a positive company image to the public, including clients.
- Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for commercial, industrial, or domestic purposes.
- Prepare technical drawings, specifications of electrical systems, or topographical maps to ensure that installation and operations confirm to standards and customer requirements.
- Perform detailed calculations to compute and establish manufacturing, construction, or installation standards or specifications.
- Confer with engineers, customers, or others to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products.
- Direct or coordinate manufacturing, construction, installation, maintenance, support, documentation, or testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements.
- Create budgets, estimate labor, material, and construction costs.
- Investigate customer or public complaints, determine nature and extent of problem, and recommend remedial measures.
- Develop site drawings for utilities and lighting.
- Develop one-line drawings for power equipment distribution and related feeders.
- Develop lighting, power, and equipment drawings with related circuitry.
- Provide and prepare Title-24 documentation.
- Prepare specifications for purchase of materials and equipment.
- Plan or implement research methodology or procedures to apply principles of electrical theory to engineer projects.
- Compile data and write reports regarding existing or potential electrical engineering studies or projects.
- Operate computer-assisted engineering or design software or equipment to perform engineering tasks.
