Looking for a change of scenery? Tired of the Fresno heat? Take a look at this opportunity! Our client owns one of the oldest ranches in California and is looking for a talented and dedicated Ranch Manager to run all aspects of their conventional and organic agriculture operations including nuts and row crops.

-Lead and motivate a skilled staff to improve productivity and financial position for the company
-Monitor and analyze commodity market conditions to determine cropping decisions and acreage allocations
-Direct and coordinate worker activities related to planting, irrigation, chemical, and fertilizer application, harvesting, and equipment management
-Market agricultural commodities
-Purchase machinery, equipment, and supplies, including tractors, seeds, fertilizer, and chemicals
-Record information such as production and farm management practices
-Direct and coordinate financial management of operations working closely with the controller
-Direction and oversight of cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
-Manage financial relationships with financial institutions
-Responsible for all employee relations including hiring, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions discharge, transfer and promoting workers; enforcing safety regulations; establishing and monitor policies
-Develop strategies to implement efficient and new operating practices and technologies within the company
-Prepare presentations and reports for ownership and ownership representatives

-Four-year degree in Agriculture or related field preferred
-Four plus years farm management experience preferred
-Two plus years managing or directing farming departments at a medium to large operation with 10 or more employees preferred
-Excellent verbal communication skills across all levels with ability to actively and effectively listen. Ability to read and write the English language essential.
-Ability to utilize data derived from various internal and external sources to make economic based recommendations and decisions.
-Ability to effectively present information and to respond to questions.
-Teambuilding skills to motivate, develop, and direct people as they work, identifying the best people for the job.
-Proven proficiency working with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and QuickBooks or appropriate accounting software
-Valid California driver’s license with clean driving record
-Spanish speaking is a plus
